Scalloped Shell Scarf

I originally was making this for myself but once my grandmother saw it I knew that it had to be hers.  Her birthday is in February so it was meant to be.  It’s her favorite color and she LOVES shells.

I thought that this was going to be quite simple to knit up but I was wrong.   It is not that the pattern is difficult because it isn’t..  I just had some trouble finding my place once I took a break.  I did the classic “oh, I’ll remember where I left off”  WRONG!  I had to rip it out a few times to correct my mistakes.  The yarn is wonderful to work with.  So soft and smooth as I knit with it.  I will certainly be using it again.  I followed the pattern to the T but I dod change how I joined to two together.  I decided to to a 3 needle bind off in stead of the whip stitch it suggested.  I think it came out great and I can’t wait to give it to Grams.  I hope she loves it!

Yeah.. I love it...

Finally finished my Every Way Wrap and it is to DIE FOR.  It has to be my favorite thing that I knit for myself.  It drapes beautifully.  Not something that anyone has in their wardrobe. Classic.  I wore it out on Saturday and my friends love it.  At first they were making fun of me because I am an old soul.  Who knits in their 30’s? umm ME! and quite a few others out there I am sure.  They just don’t know of another.  I tried t
o convince them young knitters are a plenty but they just weren’t buying it.  Well the jokes on them!  They called it a funky wrap.  I just have to knit another but I am going to change the cabling in the next one to make it my own.

If you are one of the many that looked at this project and found it daunting - just give it a try.  It is certainly worth it!   Just make sure you get the errata off the Interweave Knits web page.  The chart glossary for the cable pattern is not correct in the magazine.

My Every Way Wrap

Wow - It's been a while sine I last posted.   I have been busy though.  My latest project is the Every Way Wrap that was featured in Interweave Knits Magazine.   I was a bit leery of it since I heard that the cables required a great deal of thought and I have been in the mood for mindless projects.  However, I bought the yarn & began.

Just a joy to knit!   Never boring and just the right amount of concentration required.  I am about 50 % done and I thought I would share a few pictures of my progress.   Let me know what you think..
