Announcing 3 New Toys!

Gosh I have been so busy lately which is a good thing I guess!   Announcing my new Knit Elephant design today!  I have to say that it took me longer than I thought to make this pattern.  There is so much trial and error with designing but I do love every step and every frog!  Aren't they adorable!

Puppy toy!   This puppy actually started out as a request from a WONDERFUL customer.  This was my  introduction to the world of Waldorf toys.   Waldorf toys are simple and void of all facial expressions (yes, I left the face off on purpose) because they want the children to use their imagination when making up their stories.    More on this topic later.

I can always add a face if you prefer.  I knit these with recycled yarn.  This one was knit with so soft merino wool!!  Lightly stuffed for that squishy cuddly feel.  Many colors available.

Meet Ophelia...

Isn't she too cute??  I decided to giver her a hla skirt just because it's something different.  A design of my own of which I am quite proud.  I have been slowing teaching myself the ins and outs of shaping and design.   I have to say that I am enjoying every minute and every challenge.

I am also working on some different versions of this adorable frog so stay tuned.

My New Work - Muffin the Mule

I was asked by a lovely woman who wondered if I knit things to order.   Of course, I knit things to order and she provided the pattern.  "Muffin the Mule" is what she requested.  A sweet little guy who is very popular in England.  I had never heard of him but he seems to have quite the following.

I just love him now!   He was a lot of work but certainly worth the effort.  I love a challenge and he certainly was that.  There is a great deal of detail on this toy and most of it was not knitting.   However,
I am so pleased with the way he turned out.

So, I had to share some of the finished pictures of him.  Ler me know what you think?

Meet Rupert

I made this frog for my mother because she loves frogs.  When she taught nursery school she had 3 frogs who the children all came to love.  They could not wait to feed them each day.  Over the years the children bought her frogs to add to her collection.  This is her latest addition.  She names him "Rupert."  I think he has a lot of personality.  He was knit with 100%wool and is weighted so he sits unassisted.
