I Couldn't Resist.....

Yes, yes, I know that it's still August but I just couldn't resist posting my new Christmas Stockings.  There are still more designs to come so this is just a little preview until then.

Most of my stockings are knit with recycled yarn.  Brushed off an discarded sweaters now have a new purpose.  All of the yarn has been washed dried and re-knit into anything I can think of.   So, please know, that the supplies are limited as I rarely find the same sweater twice.  Once they are gone that's it.  Get 'em now there is no time to wait and think.

Each stocking is large in size because I love large stockings.  The blue stocking is knit with Merino/Cotton blend.  The striped is all cotton, the white is Merino/Alpaca, and the solid red is alpaca as well.  So gorgeous and ready to go.

Cutest Cabled Hat

So, as part of my New Year plan I have decided to start project #1 for me!  It's this adorable cabled hat by indigirl.  I found in my favorite knitting haunt - Ravelry.  (Pattern link can be found - here)

I even had the yarn in my stash.   Super bulky Tahki Stacyi Charles Baby in blue.

I am hoping to have this done in a couple of hours so I can wear it out today.   We will be joiningg some great friends today to watch the JETS Game!!!   GO J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!

Georgian Wrap

The Olympics have started and I have been glued to the TV.  Those of you that know me are familiar with my Olympics addiction.   I watch it all - even the boring events.  So during my long hours of watching I have been busy with my latest creation - The Georgian Wrap!

I like the bold classic blue and the ripple pattern to its collar.  Yes, it is even reversible!  It measures 12" wide and 80" long.  Soft and warm.  Made of 100%wool.  I decided to use a stockinette stitch to make the ripple stand out.  I know you just have to have one too!   Well the pattern is coming.  I am making sure that there are NO ERRORS like my last debacle.  Enjoy!

Another Day

Yet another day has passed with the blink of an eye.  I have been so busy making my ornaments for the coming Holiday season.  I can not wait to take some pictures of them all.  I am in love with the owls and the trees.   I can't believe how much I enjoyed making them!

Still working on my reversible cabled scarf .  It's turning out beautifully.  I am using the Malabrigo (my favorite) in blue.  OMG.. LOVE IT... Thank you Deb at What's Needling You for the pattern.  It is my first reversible cable anything.  I am surprised at how easy it has been.  I just spend a couple hours a night while watching the World Series.  I am not rushing through this one.  I am, for once, taking my time and really enjoying the process.

Knitting is just a passion for me.  When I picked up the sticks 3-4 years ago.  I NEVER thought that I would fall in love.  I thought maybe it would be just another hobby of mine  I would pull it out on occasion and knit up a scarf for myself.  Who knew the love affair that I started!!!  It has been my only constant craft I work on all year long and almost everyday and love every second of it!  Thanks to my Grandma & Aunt who inspired me to learn.
